Choosing a photo: The subject in the photo should be clear of shadows. The eyes are very important and should be clear, not dark. The sketch can only be as detailed as the photo.
If you send a photo that is too dark with shadows I will ask you to choose a clearer photo. I don't mind having to help you choose between more than one photo to ensure that you end up with a great pencil sketch.
Sketch detail:
-
4" face including Bust:
For defined detail the face will measure at least 3" X 4". This will make a sketch featuring one subject measure approximately 5" X 7" from top of hair to bust.
-
5" face including Bust:
For defined detail the face will measure at least 4" X 5". This will make a sketch featuring one subject measure approximately 7.5" X 8.5" from top of hair to bust.
Combining Subjects from Separate Photos:
- Subjects can be combined from separate photos into one sketch. This is a great way to make a complete family portrait! I can combine the photos with those great expressions into one wonderful pencil sketch portrait.
